Last 2 for the month!

Hi all :) Hope you are well.

Wanted to share with you the last 2 layouts I created with the August kit from Cest Magnifique. Remember you can find the kit and the add ons HERE.

Love These Days
Here is one of my favourite photos ever. This is New Years Day 2012 . In Australia we usually celebrate this day by going to the beach or doing something with our families as it is a very hot time of the year and we are all pretty much recovering from the night before. This time we had a big dress up party at my place the night before which did not finish till 3:00 am !!! But it was my niece and God daugheters beach party and we had to go . We were leaving the next day for our holiday to Melbourne and I remember I was SOOOO exhausted and was complaining the whole day. When I looked through my photos I was so so so happy to have captured this one among all my whingeing LOL! You see..this photo includes all the cousins from my side...both my kids and both my 2 brothers 4 children. These shots are rare as it has captured the moment. There is so much going on in this picture and I am so glad I had enough sense to take my camera along that day. This is priceless for me.

Love You
I will confess..the brown messy paint on my layout is simply an accident. I was squeezing some paint out of a bottle when a big squirt came out and I was left with no choice but to pretend I was trying to be artsy and spread it all over the page. It looks OK ..but the layout has a different look than what I intended! This layout is of my youngest who at nearly 4 years old is more attached to me than ever. I think I have something to do with that..maybe LOL! But she is the only one at home right now so we spend a lot of time together and her and I just click.

Petaloo: Black Berry Picks

Embellishment Add-On

Now before I go, I wanted to show you the other 3 layouts I created with this awesome kit and add ons!

Take care and have a great week everyone :)

A Mother is she...

...who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one can take. LOVE that quote and its one that is very close to my heart. When this quote was printed on one of the Kaisercraft die cuts that was were included in the August kit from C' est Magnifique I knew I had to use it.

Today I wanted to share with you this layout I created with the August kit from C' est Magnifique. We are teaming up with Creative Scrappers this month as we are sponsoring them and here is my take on the current sketch..You can see all the details and what the rest of the Design Team created HERE

C' est Magnifique August kit sneak and new challenge!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope this post find you well.

Over at the C' est Magnifique kit club blog we have decided to change things around a little with our challenges. We will still have the monthly sketch challenge on the 1st of every month with a sketch that I provide, but we have also added a new word challenge which will be revealed on the 15th of each month. You will have 1 month to enter your layout for each of those challenges.

So today I want to give you a little sneak peek of the absolutely STUNNING August kit which will be fully revealed soon AND also introduce you to our first word challenge. This month, you need to use the word *GROW* in your layout somewhere .

SO here is my layout using the soon to be released August kit.

Here are my 2 girls walking together in a march for our Greek Independence Day here in Sydney. The little one just follows on and is growing up much faster than I would like because she had no choice. She has to keep up with an older sibling. It was hard having 2 children 2 years apart...I won't lie. But it surely is paying off now that they are together and look for each other all the time.

Some of the items are already available in the store. To find them click HERE  or on the links below.

From the Flower Add-On
Prima: Summer Mix Pankita Rose Flowers
Green Tara: Ivory Heirloom Flower
Webster's Pages: Everyday Poetry Princess Petals

From the Embellishment Add-On

Teresa Collins: Dragonfly Trinkets

Please click HERE to see all the details of prizes that are up for grabs and more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

My second layout was just posted on the C' est Magnifique blog as part of the lead up to the August kit reveal.

So I will sound like a dag here, but if anyone was to ask me what my perfect weekend would be I would say one that I spend with my children and family at home or doing something fun like bike riding through a park or country drives. I have made sure that nothing interferes with our family time on the weekend. It is so precious to me and I just think its such an important time to bond at the end of a week. Like most people we are pretty busy too and quite often get sidetracked with "life"and commitments and I think quality time with the kids is lost somewhere in between. SO weekends are sacred for me.

This is one gorgeous kit! Once it is revealed it will be available HERE or to join the kit club and make sure you do not miss out please click HERE

Have a great week ahead everyone :)

New Kaisercraft Collection *Attitude!*

So hello everyone! Things have been so quiet around here havent they? Well for one, we went on a family vacation to Melbourne last week which we almost didnt make due to a back injury my husband had the night before we were supposed to fly out. In the end we left a few days later and still got to spend some days in Melbourne. Then, I started work again this week after being off since October of last year. Many mixed emotions there..but life at home has changed with Maria at school and I am just not challenged enough here. I love teaching and after all this time I craved to have my own little class. I have a lovely year 1 class and I only work there 2 days a week but teaching is very full on and lets just say I am exhausted as I type this!

Everything else has been pretty good. Life is continuing on smoothly and I am doing very very well. Things have settled here once again.

Now scrapping wise its a bit of a different story. I am not scrapping nearly as much as I used to. No time and not much motivation. At the moment its pretty much my Design Team stuff which is OK. I am fine with that.

So as I said earlier in the week I worked with the VERY masculine Attitude! collection from Kaisercraft, which was released just this month. I seriously had zero trouble playing around with the neutrals in this collection. To see the full collection and purchase it please visit Handmade By Suzanne HERE

So this is what was shown on the Kaisercraft blog this week using the Attitude! collection.

Layout
Kaisercraft Materials Used: Attitude! Collection 6 ½ “ Paper Pad (PP873), Attitude! Sticker Sheet (SS141), Attitude Patterned Papers – Dude (P886) and Wicked (P890), Attitude! Specialty Embossed Paper – Industrial ( PS216), Resin Flower Orchid (EM968), White Ink (IP720), Mini Paper Blooms – Honey (F645), Pearl Strip – Latte (PL505), Wooden Flourishes – Lamp Post ( FL326), Wooden Flourishes- Oval Lace Frame ( FL369), Mini Alphas – Cream (MA505)
Other – Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page – Vintage Floral, Martha Stewart Deep Border Punch – Vintage Doily, Spellbinders Nestabilities – Picot Edge Circles.
“Well as you can see I did not create a masculine looking page with this collection although it screams ” boy” !! I always try and challenge myself when creating otherwise what’s the fun in it? So given I have 2 girls, I decided to use the neutral colours from this collection and create a layout using this picture of my daughter in her first weeks of kindergarten. I liked this quote particularly because when I look at this picture I see her amongst the crowd and to the world she is just another child, but for me..she is my entire world and I do not see anyone else in a crowd but her. As selfish as that might be!!”
Kaisercraft Materials Used: 10” Frame (SB2115), Attitude! Collection Patterned Paper – Rebel (P885), Attitude! Collection Sticker Sheet (SS141), Attitude! Collection Collectables (CT719), Alpha Chipboard #2 (CB108).
Other: gauze, corrugated cardboard, fence die, black mist and paint, gesso, Glossy Accents.
“What PERFECT timing that it was when my daughter just got invited to her very first ” boy” party by a school friend! I made this wall piece for her friend Zac and will give it to him together with the Attitude! card I created earlier in the week. For this project I used a number of elements to create a grungy look including gesso, paint, and random ink before layering lots of die cuts from the Collections pack”

Kaisercraft Materials Used: Attitude! Paper Pad (PP873), Attitude! Collectables (CT719) , Attitude! Sticker Sheet (SS141) , Mounting Foam Dots (T302)
“This card is pretty straight forward to make. I have used a number of pieces from the Collectables pack to layer and overlap on top of each other. This is a typical boy card without all the extra frills and details one would use on a female card”

I will be back in a couple of days to show you the rest of my Miss Match collections, but until then I hope you all have a great weekend!

xoxo Nadia

Kaisercraft Miss Match collection

Hi everyone. I hope this post finds you well. Apologies for being a little quiet lately and not visiting you all as much as I should :( . I will be back later in the week to catch up with you all.

I have been working with the just released Miss Match collection from Kaisercraft this past month and today I want to share with you 2 layouts that I created with this collection which were shown on the Kaisercraft blog recently.

Remember that the complete Miss Match collection is available at Handmade By Suzanne HERE  while most of the other Kaisercraft materials are also available at Handmade By Suzanne HERE

The first layout is my take on Saturday Sketch #2. Did you know that each Saturday a new sketch is released at the Kaisercraft blog and you have a whole month to play along and be in with a chance to win some very generous prizes. I won one of their challenges in the past and yes they are very generous!

To see the sketch this layout was based on and to find out all the details please see the Kaisercraft blog HERE

" Ioanna"
Kaisercraft Materials Used: Miss Match Patterned Paper – Bric-a-brac (P879), Junk (P878), Trinkets (P882), Miss Match Bingo Cards (EM981), Miss Match Polaroid Frames (EM982), Miss Match Collectables (CT718), Blossom Lily Resin Flower (EM970), Pearl Flourish – latte (PL508), Mini Alphas – cream (MA505), Paper Blossoms – Honey (F628), White Ink (IP723)

Other: Fiskars Scalloped Banner paper punch.

Now here is my second layout with the Miss Match collection. Starting today it is my week together with 2 other DT members at the Kaisercraft blog so get ready for Kaisercraft overload this week on my blog :)

Kaisercraft Materials Used: Miss Match collection papers- Knick- Knack (P881), Rummage (PS214), Junk (P878), Wooden Flourishes- Vines (FL406), Paper Blossoms – Honey ( F628), Mini Paper Blooms – Honey (F645), Pearl Strip – Latte (PL505), Wooden Flourishes – Ornate Frame (FL366), Blossoms – Lily (EM970), Crochet Doily ( EM946), Paper Tags and Shapes – white (EM923)

I once again used the technique I showed you earlier in the month for the Tuesday Tip post where I created the decorative border using a scalloped paper punch. Although the collection has many bold colours that can be used for neutral gender pages, I decided to pull the soft colours for this layout of my 2 girls and combined it with some beautiful Paper Blooms and resin flowers to create this layout

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Kaisercraft Paper Blooms...they come in all colours and you get a few different sizes and designs in each pack! Also love the mini paper blooms :)

Also have been a VERY long time fan of Kaisercraft's wooden shapes and flourishes. I usually do not do anything to them..leaving them raw is my favourite way to use them.

Oh and here is a new thing I discovered I loved! Using the Kaisercraft Pearl Strips to add detail to the edge of my projects! I remember ages ago I had a whole lot of these which look like this and could not really find a use for them until I received a whole bunch of them in my DT box last month and decided to try using them instead of Liquid Pearls that I usually add to my projects. Well I loved the result and have used them quite a bit in my upcoming projects.

Also really liked the crochet flowers from Kaisercraft and the new resins they have released. I tell you I am VERY excited working with Kaisercraft products right now. I have always really loves their core products and now that I have what seems like an endless supply of them I am in creative heaven LOL!

So keep an eye our on the Kaisercraft blog this week as I have also worked with the other July release ...a boy range called Attitude! Uh huh...a masculine collection!!! First time ever I think.. :)

Take care everyone.

New Kaisercraft collection and tip!

Today my first post as a Design Team member is up at the Kaisercraft blog HERE ! How exciting to start my 12 month term officially with a section they call Tuesday Tip where we are asked to give some ideas on how to use some of the current collections.

In early July there were 2 new collections released, Miss Match and Attitude! which are both available at Handmade By Suzanne right now over HERE

Today I have used the very pretty Miss Match collection to create a card and to show you a way to make the decorative border.

This is the card that I made..
Kaisercraft Materials Used:
Miss Match 6 ½ “ Paper Pad (PP872) , Miss Match Paper Trash (P874), Lace Pack- Cream (EM927), Wooden Flourishes – Penny Farthing ( FL355) , Pearl Strip- White (PL501), Paper Blooms – Buttercream ( F629), Double Sided Tape (T315)

and here are the steps to create the border..

I used a page from the 6 1/2 ” paper pad from Miss Match and a 1.5″ scalloped edge punch.

I then punched a number of circles out of the paper…

..and cut them in half.

I then folded ” Trash” paper in half and using a circle template, cut a double layered circle leaving one area uncut to create a flap.
Next, I opened the card and placed Kaisercraft’s 2 way tape on the edge of both sides and begun sticking the scalloped circles and overlapped them to create a layered effect.

After this, I used one more paper from the 6 1/2 ” paper pad to cut 2 circles and cover the inside of the cards so it looks neater.
I then turned the card over and to cover the top area I used some lace which I made into a bow…
Hope you found something useful here today :) Next week is my week on the Kaisercraft blog where along with a couple of the other Design Team members I will show you the way I created layouts, cards and Off The Page projects with Miss Match and Attitude.
Bye for now :)
