So hello everyone! Things have been so quiet around here havent they? Well for one, we went on a family vacation to Melbourne last week which we almost didnt make due to a back injury my husband had the night before we were supposed to fly out. In the end we left a few days later and still got to spend some days in Melbourne. Then, I started work again this week after being off since October of last year. Many mixed emotions there..but life at home has changed with Maria at school and I am just not challenged enough here. I love teaching and after all this time I craved to have my own little class. I have a lovely year 1 class and I only work there 2 days a week but teaching is very full on and lets just say I am exhausted as I type this!
Everything else has been pretty good. Life is continuing on smoothly and I am doing very very well. Things have settled here once again.
Now scrapping wise its a bit of a different story. I am not scrapping nearly as much as I used to. No time and not much motivation. At the moment its pretty much my Design Team stuff which is OK. I am fine with that.
So as I said earlier in the week I worked with the VERY masculine Attitude! collection from Kaisercraft, which was released just this month. I seriously had zero trouble playing around with the neutrals in this collection. To see the full collection and purchase it please visit Handmade By Suzanne HERE
So this is what was shown on the Kaisercraft blog this week using the Attitude! collection.
Layout
Kaisercraft Materials Used: Attitude! Collection 6 ½ “ Paper Pad (PP873), Attitude! Sticker Sheet (SS141), Attitude Patterned Papers – Dude (P886) and Wicked (P890), Attitude! Specialty Embossed Paper – Industrial ( PS216), Resin Flower Orchid (EM968), White Ink (IP720), Mini Paper Blooms – Honey (F645), Pearl Strip – Latte (PL505), Wooden Flourishes – Lamp Post ( FL326), Wooden Flourishes- Oval Lace Frame ( FL369), Mini Alphas – Cream (MA505)
Other – Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page – Vintage Floral, Martha Stewart Deep Border Punch – Vintage Doily, Spellbinders Nestabilities – Picot Edge Circles.
“Well as you can see I did not create a masculine looking page with this collection although it screams ” boy” !! I always try and challenge myself when creating otherwise what’s the fun in it? So given I have 2 girls, I decided to use the neutral colours from this collection and create a layout using this picture of my daughter in her first weeks of kindergarten. I liked this quote particularly because when I look at this picture I see her amongst the crowd and to the world she is just another child, but for me..she is my entire world and I do not see anyone else in a crowd but her. As selfish as that might be!!”
Kaisercraft Materials Used: 10” Frame (SB2115), Attitude! Collection Patterned Paper – Rebel (P885), Attitude! Collection Sticker Sheet (SS141), Attitude! Collection Collectables (CT719), Alpha Chipboard #2 (CB108).
Other: gauze, corrugated cardboard, fence die, black mist and paint, gesso, Glossy Accents.
“What PERFECT timing that it was when my daughter just got invited to her very first ” boy” party by a school friend! I made this wall piece for her friend Zac and will give it to him together with the Attitude! card I created earlier in the week. For this project I used a number of elements to create a grungy look including gesso, paint, and random ink before layering lots of die cuts from the Collections pack”
Kaisercraft Materials Used: Attitude! Paper Pad (PP873), Attitude! Collectables (CT719) , Attitude! Sticker Sheet (SS141) , Mounting Foam Dots (T302)
“This card is pretty straight forward to make. I have used a number of pieces from the Collectables pack to layer and overlap on top of each other. This is a typical boy card without all the extra frills and details one would use on a female card”
I will be back in a couple of days to show you the rest of my Miss Match collections, but until then I hope you all have a great weekend!
xoxo Nadia
It may be a masculine collection, but you rocked it, Nadia, using it for your little girl! I love the result and the way you built your page - even though there are a couple of pretty big elements in it, you have managed to combine them in a harmonious & balanced way!!! Lovely work as always!!
