A mixed Media tag for Prima!

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing with you a card that I made for Prima Marketing with a focus Mixed Media.

I have found that when you are first starting out trying Mixed Media projects it can be overwhelming. I have been there and purchased MANY products over the years but in the end you do only need a few things to get started and luckily Prima now offers most of them! You simply needs a few stencils, some staples like gesso, modeling paste, gel medium, and things like a couple of mists, pencils, markers etc. For this project I simply applied gesso to the paper, then modeling paste through the stencil gave it a quick hit of texture and then used cheesecloth hand more paper strips to create more layers. I finished it off with some simple embellishments and Color Bloom Sprays

A card for Prima

Hi everyone!
You might have noticed that things have slowed down a lot here and over the last few posts I have been saying that I am slowing down a lot more and that things on here will continue to slow down.. Well, yeah things have :( Without totally leaving scrapbooking behind, I have , over the last couple of months, stepped down from , most of my design team stuff as I pretty much found it unrealistic to keep up.

I have a toddler that is thriving..going on to 2 and I want to not only spend more time with her during the day, but invest as much energy as I can into talking to her, taking her places during the day (dont think anything exotic.. more like the local shopping centre LOL), sit and draw with her, play games (even on the iPad, she's quite the champion!) with her, and just BE THERE! Be in the moment, be present.

This means that all day is gone, bar the couple of hours she sleeps which is the time I use to pay the bills, do the admin for our business, start dinner, tidy up etc and the 2 hours goes in a flash before it is time to go get the older girls from school, drop them off to various after school activities, pick them up in now time, come home , continue dinner, do homework with them while above mentioned thriving toddler hangs off one arm and is screaming for attention, have dinner, clean up and leave things spotless (yeah 'cause I am OCD like that too!) , hang out with all kids and hubby, read the occasional story (because I was THAT mother that said I would read with my kids every night but these days I am exhausted !) , tuck kids in, go up and down the stairs 30 times because someone forgot something, and then finally sit on the lounge around 8 and am like a robot and can only watch mundane programs like My Kitchen Rules that require zero thinking...Then wake up and do it ALL OVER AGAIn the next day x 7 days a week x 365 days a year!

Are you exhausted just reading that? Try living it! LOL Oh i forgot to say in there somewhere that I am obsessive about the nutrition of our family, so I source , research etc organic, good quality produce from all different places and cook mostly everything that we eat from scratch.!! Yes because I added THAT to my life too!! LOL

I am NOT complaining .. seriously I am not. I am just trying to make you see why scrapbooking and creating had to take a back seat . It is regrettable because I love it. I hope to continue with Prima a bit longer and then .. maybe I can continue just for myself.

Honestly.. I love it. I had 2 Design Teams I considered to be the elite of Design Teams.. that was 7 Dots Studio and Prima Marketing. I made both of those at the same time and then after that.. well.. what is there ? I see my work standard is declining and I am not proud of my work as I once was. So maybe.. one day I will continue to just scrap for me.. I love it too much.

 But anyway, I will still be around and I hope I can drop by from time to time to share some work :)

A canvas for The Flying Unicorn

Today I wanted to show you a a layout I created for The Flying Unicorn using their March  kit Of The Month.

Sadly this is the last kit that I create with :( I have decided to take a step away from scrapping as I look to juggle life, children and work commitments . It is extremely hard to have to do this because my mojo is still there, my love for creating and playing around with paper, flowers etc is still there but I just could simply not dedicate the time that it needs. It is not just the creating, it is the photographing, editing, uploading , posting etc etc... Which i LOVE but I just do not have time for :(

So anyway we will see just how this all turns out..

Now, unfortunately this kit and MOST of the monthly kits and add ons, have sold out :( In fact they sell out so quickly that The Flying Unicorn has started a system where you can now pre order the kits a week or 2 before they are released. You get a sneak peek of them in the newsletter and if you like what you see then you order it.

You will find The Flying Unicorn in lots of places. Check out the:
 ==> forums HERE
==>website and online shop HERE
==> blog HERE
==>Facebook HERE

Are you interested in FREE classes, FREE live tutorials, FREE tips, ideas and techniques? Well then you NEED to go to The Flying Unicorn's UStream Channel right HERE because there is something being shown every other day!!

The add on kit ALWAYS includes a canvas and colours and different mediums to play around with and this is why I love The Flying Unicorn... If you are into mixed media you will love it too because you are not just confined to creating layouts. You can create canvases, Off The Page items (one is always included in the main kit), cards etc. They are such good value for money!

For this canvas I used the stencil that was in the kit together with Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste and then cut the black flourish die cut in half and adhered it to the side of the canvas.

Then I went to town to with the GORGEOUS yellow flowers that were in the kit and added some splatters of black to add more contrast.

I hope you get your hands on the next months one... it is yet another amazing one.

Thanks for dropping by

7 Dots Studio February Challenge

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well.

Back today to share with you my latest project for 7 Dots Studio and it is for the February challenge with the theme "Hearts". Today is also the last post that I make for 7 Dots Studio and this is sad for me as it is only because of life changes, time restrictions and going back to work soon that  I have begun to let go of my Design Team spots :(

I still enjoy creating, I still love getting out all my goodies and playing but ... there is just no time anymore. I am not saying it is for good... just slowing down even more and we will see.

Please check out the 7 Dots Studio website HERE
and please check out the stockists for your country HERE

This time I have used the simply stunning Destination Unknown collection designed by Dee Dee Catron for 7 Dots Studio..

This is a little of what it looks like ..

This is another of my my favourite photos which for some reason again is very bright ! This photo is a special one as it is at the park in winter , down the road from our new house. We had not moved in yet and but we were getting to know the area .

As the theme for the challenge is "Hearts" I have used the word in my title and also used some die cut elements shaped in hearts and scattered around the page.

I created circles with the stamp set from the same collection
I then coloured them in with Gelatos.

 I also used the Elements mask together with modelling paste to create texture in the background.

A card for Prima!

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing with you a card that I made for Prima Marketing with a focus on Color Bloom Sprays.

In this card here I used the beautiful vintage coloured Bloom Sprays to accentuate the golden microbeads I used in the background. The beads popped as soon as I added some Color Blooms to them. I also used a lighter colour in the background which I added with a brush and watered it down just to cover some of the areas.

A layout for 7 Dots Studio

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well.

Back today to share with you my latest project for 7 Dots Studio

Please check out the 7 Dots Studio website HERE
and please check out the stockists for your country HERE

This time I have used the simply stunning Thoughts Keeper collection ..

I have no idea why the photo is over exposed like that! I took many shots in many different angles and it would just show up like that lol oh well.
I really did like this particular photo. It is one that captures a moment while we were on a holiday in Melbourne last year. It is at Federation Square and it pretty much sums up our holiday... Sofia being a wriggly worm and everyone trying to contain her LOL

OK for the base I used Thoughts Keeper No3 paper and I cut up some squares of the same paper to build my background as you can see in the image below.

I also used the stamp set from Thoughts Keeper to stamp in the background.

I added the gorgeous tags from the Thoughts Keeper collection which include some beautiful sayings on them.

I added some chipboard and some flowers and finished off with some gold mist :)
