An Off The Page project with The Flying Unicorn's December Kit Of The Month!

Goodmorning!

The Flying Unicorn's  December kit Of The Month includes a gorgeous wooden sleigh and I really loved playing around with this one. I have to admit I miss having time to play with Off The Page projects. As much as I love them there is a lot of waiting around for stuff to dry and a lot more detail and due to that I always revert to layouts or cards these days. But this sleigh was just calling my name and was actually very quick to put together.

So you will find this kit and all the add ons at the store HERE

Once I coated the whole thing with white gesso, I applied some silver mist and some Prima Mica Flakes

Till next time its bye for now

One more layout for The Flying Unicorn using December's Kit Of The Month

Goodmorning!

Today I wanted to show you one more layout I created for The Flying Unicorn using their December kit Of The Month. You will find this kit and all the add ons at the store HERE

You better be quick if you like the look of this kit because The Flying Unicorn is NOT a kit club and the kits are so gorgeous that they go very very fast. So not being a kit club means you do not sign up to get a kit every month which is something a lot of people do not like in case you are stuck with a kit you don't like. Nope! At the Flying Unicorn the kits are released around the 1st of each month so you need to follow their website HERE or blog HERE or Facebook HERE to see the kits before they sell out.

Here I have used again papers from the 13arts collection Cosy Evening which come in the kit , as well some 13arts Berry Pastel mist  and the 13arts stencil which created the snow like textur ein the background.

The gorgeous Prima lamp as well the chipboard and flowers and most of what you see on this layout was in the kit or add ons

Till next time its bye for now

More from The Flying Unicorn's December Kit Of The Month !

Goodmorning!

Today I wanted to show you 2 tags I created for The Flying Unicorn using their December kit Of The Month. You will find this kit and all the add ons at the store HERE

You will also find their website HERE or blog HERE or Facebook HERE to see the kits before they sell out.

So for these 2 tags I REALLY wanted to create something rustic looking because I TOTALLY loved the 13arts stencils that are included in this months kit and add ons!

I think I used a couple of them in the background and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, especially when I use them with my favourite Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste in white. I know you are probably sick of me repeating how much I love it but I just have never liked a product more than this one! It is used on every project!

SO back to the 13arts stencils, they have such cool designs on them and they are simply PERFECT for mixed media! I love that in a 6x6 stencils you get a few different designs that the perfect size for cards, tags etc.

So after I applied a good layer or 2 of heavy white gesso, which is great because it give texture as well as being a primer, I then applied the Embossing Paste with the stencils and used 13arts Turquoise Chalk Mist and Lindy's Stamp Gang Shabby Turbine Mist  and California Poppy Gold in the background.

I then added hints of Silks Spiced Pumpkin to create an even more rustic look.

I then piled the gorgeous chipboard, flowers and other embellies that were in the kit and coloured them too

That's all for today!

Till next time its bye for now

The Flying Unicorn December Kit Of The Month

Goodmorning!

Today I wanted to show you a layout I created for The Flying Unicorn using their December kit Of The Month.

Here is my first layout with this kit

This month the kit is AMAZING because unlike other kits that are released around this time, this one is NOT Christmas themed! Yes I said NOT Christmas themed LOL

Why would I be happy about that? Because I am really NOT a huge fan of having to create a hundred Christmas layouts and projects etc etc. I think a couple of layouts are great but I can only do so many layouts of the same day etc lol

SO this kit includes the SUPER AWESOME "Cosy Evening" collection from 13arts!! Yes almost the whole collection and the add ons also include the more masks etc from this collection! It is a nice winter themed collection which can really be used for any kind of layout, not just Christmas or winter ones.

Paired with the Pastel Berry mist also from 13arts and its a match made in heaven.

Just above you can also see I have started by using some gauze and modelling paste together with a trim that comes in the kit to create texture. Once that dried I used my Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste in white and one of the 13arts masks and created the lines and more texture that you can see.

This is a close up of the medical gauze I purchased from a chemist together with modelling paste, mist and gesso which  used to create texture.

The kit also comes with these amazing resin swirls by Prima and an even more gorgeous piece of simple string which I used to highlight the point of my photo :)

So that is all for today!

I hope you do get your hands on one of these :)

Hope you have been inspired!

A layout for 7 Dots Studio

Hello friends!

I hope this post finds you well.

Back today to share with you my latest project for 7 Dots Studio

Please check out the 7 Dots Studio website HERE
and please check out the stockists for your country HERE

Hands up if you are a woman and especially one that has had a child or 3 and look at yourself in ANY Photo you take and pick at it? You start to pick at all your bad bits, and can find hardly anything nice in you,  therefore completely avoiding taking pictures at all. This only mean you get more resentful because the years pass and when you look back at all the photos you have taken you wonder if your kids will believe that they ever had a mum because you are never in any pictures :(

Yep that's me too.

I try to say "Who cares! Just go for it" but I still hate taking photos.

For me to use a photo I like I have to take 100. Sounds vain? Nope! Just insecure .. like most of us. I do not want to look perfect! I just want to see a photo where I look ok.

Anyway, I paired this rare photo I like with the lyrics from Pink's song "Try". Why? Because quite often with me, and most of us , it is not just about being mean to our physical self. More often than not it is all inside. It is all going on inside and it all stems from something. A bad experience, a word someone said, a vulnerable time.. a tragedy that changes you. So moral of the story is be kind to yourself, you will get burnt , it is a nasty world but even though it hurts you need to get up and try ..

So much easier said than done right?
